![]() ![]() Not the game's fault or anything, I just have a hard time being consistent in terms of health management in these types of games (especially without the crutch of save points/checkpoints to rely on). I've tried each weapon I've been able to unlock at least a few times each, and while they all feel 'good', none of them fully click for me yet (I think the Aegis shield may possibly be the closest for me). After my one run into Elysium the next 4 since I have either died on the first or second boss (or somewhere in between). I think I may have hit a bit of a wall for now. I do enjoy the combat, but I also really want to see where the story goes from here. Think I'm going to give myself 2-3 more runs, and if I can't make any further forward progress in that time I'll probably enable god mode at that point and go from there. Probably will go back to the Aegis Shield since that weapon seemed to click with me the most of those I've tried. I've held off on enabling god mode for now, just to see how far I can get without it. ![]() ![]() It does feel a bit demotivating to regress after making a decent bit of progress, though I'm ok with it for now as I was testing out new weapons in my last couple runs. Unfortunately have stagnated a bit since, and haven't been able to make it back to Elysium on my 2 subsequent runs (including the last run where I wound up dying to the first boss again despite doing relatively well on that run up to that point IMO). ![]() I made a bit of progress on one of my earlier runs this weekend where I cleared the first boss for the very first time (finally) and wound up beating the second boss on the same run, before tapping out in Elysium. From the combat, the music, to the overall atmosphere, it's just an awesome experience overall, despite me not being particularly good at the game. I don't think roguelikes are really my genre, but definitely having a very good time with Hades. For more on Hades, consider checking out our other help articles, which cover things like best weapons, the Pact of Punishment, and door symbols.Man what a cool game. That's essentially what you need to know about God Mode in Hades, how to use it, and whether it disables achievements or trophies (it doesn't!). When you turn GM off, you'll see in-game text saying the percentage buff has been removed, including a minus sign and the number for whatever percentage you've acquired so far.Īgain, this doesn't mean you've lost the percentage you've accrued it just means that GM is turned off. When you exit the menu for the first time, Zagreus will get a 20% damage reduction buff, denoted by text that appears above his head. To access it, pause the game, and choose "Settings." Scroll down to "Subtitles," then scroll right to highlight the GM check box under in the middle. God Mode can be toggled on and off in the "Settings" menu. Essentially, you'll never lose the percentage you've accrued. It maxes out at 80% damage reduction, and it persists on your save file whether you have the mode active or not. For each subsequent run, that buff increases by 2%, making you more resistant to enemy attacks after every return to the House of Hades. It confers a 20% defense buff on your first run, the very first time you select it. Since there are technically no difficulty settings in Hades, God Mode acts as a sort of difficulty modifier. Instead, it makes the game easier in some respects, adding an increasing buff that lasts across playthroughs. The short answer is no: Hades' God Mode does not disable achievements or trophies, nor does it carry any sort of penalty. ![]()
